Jana McMillan
1954 – 2018
On December 26th, 2018, our friend Jana McMillan went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ. We will miss her.
Jana served the community in many capacities. She gave her all to those ideas she believed in and to the people she loved. She served on the City Council of College Station in 2011. She was involved in many political and charitable campaigns. One of those was Read by Third.
Jana was one of the original volunteers for Read by Third which began in the Bryan ISD six years ago. She believed in the mission and goals of the program, working tirelessly in every way possible. When she was not mentoring parents or Aggie volunteers, she might be meeting with business and community leaders to solicit support for the program. The individual participants, school personnel, community supporters and fellow volunteers all knew of Jana’s care for them. Jana’s sincere and passionate involvement has played a big role in the growth of Read by Third to what it is today.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 5, at Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Center in Bryan.
Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to Read by Third.
